Bristol's Business Coach Recommendations - Man’s Search For Meaning: The Classic Tribute to Hope from the Holocaust — Viktor E. Frankl

This book resonated with me so much, it’s one of my favourite philosophies! For the first half it’s not a comfortable read, it’s harrowing as he recounts his experience of living in a prisoner of war camp. The second half is about meaningful work - Frankl helps us understand that finding meaning in our lives can cure a lot of maladies.

In current parlance this book is about ‘finding your purpose’ or ‘finding your why’ – the great work as championed by Simon Sinek - More on this here.

It’s not a long book but probably the book I have highlighted the most.

Viktor Emil Frankl (26 March 1905 – 2 September 1997) was an Austrian psychiatrist and Holocaust survivor, who founded logotherapy, a school of psychotherapy that describes a search for a life's meaning as the central human motivational force. Logotherapy is part of existential and humanistic psychology theories and was promoted as the third school of Viennese Psychotherapy, after those established by the great Sigmund Freud, and Alfred Adler.

Viktor E. Frankl has published an astonishing 39 books!
