Atomic habits

Building small consistent steps towards being a better person and better human, this book – Atomic Habits – helps to develop on the success of your personality by guiding you to create small habits and changes, working towards being 1% better every day.

“ I love this book because we often, at times, have an internal knot within our psychology where we want to change things about ourselves – for example: a fear of public speaking, relationship with money, low self esteem, or challenges with our leadership ability.

We know we want to change this internal knot but struggle to change it.

This books helps to make micro adjustments to your personality and implement habits on a daily basis, helping to shift the really hard things you might find difficult.”

Join us on 10th June, where we will open up discussions on ourselves, our habits, our internal knots, and how best to move forward to success.

Is there anything that could’ve been improved?

I think it was perfect.

How would you describe this event to a friend?

Personally, I wouldn’t describe it as a book club. Which is a positive in my view. Reading prescribed books on a regular basis isn’t so much something that excites me, but it really do like deep conversations and talking about life. I think having the opportunity to be heard and to really listen to others is something I love and would like more of. So I did describe it as an opportunity to talk about what it means to live a life of love and other thoughts about life!

Would you come again? If so what book(s) would you like to work through together?

Yes, I really enjoyed the company of all the people there and felt it was a positive and useful environment. I would like to discuss things that matter with people who are interested in doing so too. Not sure the book matters to me, so much – I guess it gives the event a context, draws people in and makes discussing these things more acceptable!?

Is there anything that could’ve been improved?

Really well organised, good guided discussion, amazing well-read hosts that make the session enjoyable.

How would you describe this event to a friend?

Non-fiction, personal and professional development session based on well-researched/selected books

Would you come again? If so what book(s) would you like to work through together?

I definitely will. I liked the suggestion of Lawrence atomic habits. It’s one of many on my list that would really interest me as a practice book for my personal life. I read the 1% method and can see how it could be a good one for a discussion. Dare to lead by Brene Brown is another book on my list, it’s talking about stepping into the personal power and letting go of everything that’s holding one back. Touches the topics of confidence and true vulnerability.

Is there anything that could’ve been improved?

Longer time to discuss – felt there was a good group and that 2 hours just got to the interesting part. Appreciated the effort by James and Saf to organise and facilitate.

How would you describe this event to a friend?

A bit like a therapy session, informative to get a wider range of perspectives and help me escape the matrix, one positive thought at a time.

Would you come again? If so what book(s) would you like to work through together?

Yes. The Alchemist, Atomic Habits.

Is there anything that could’ve been improved?

No – it was a great session!

How would you describe this event to a friend?

A book club where we all went deep into how the book affected us than I had imagined. A really lovely group of people, and well led so we all enjoyed the time together.

Would you come again? If so what book(s) would you like to work through together?

Definitely – it all depends on what I’ve got going on, but would love to come back. Any book on business, self development – anything really – would be grand!

How would you describe this event to a friend?

I’ve never done a book club before and I was worried I wouldn’t have anything to contribute. I really liked the format of the group, and the question prompts, I had lots to say as it turned out! We all came away with some personal life actions , which was an added therapeutic benefit.

Would you come again? If so what book(s) would you like to work through together?

Yes
